Hosting a Dinner Party

Hosting a Dinner Party
.
As the colder months are getting closer, we’re saying goodbye to barbecues and garden parties, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t plan any more festivities! Dinner parties are a great way to gather your favourite people around a delicious meal and create new memories all by staying warm, but they can be stressful to organise. To help you with your planning, here are four tips that will make you confident about hosting the best dinner parties!
.

1. Prepare ahead of time

.
In order to avoid getting overwhelmed on the d-day (believe us, your kitchen can get real messy real quick), you want to plan things out properly in advance: decide what vibe/theme (if any) you want to go for, write down your menu and do all your grocery shopping, plan out the timeline of your dinner party, especially if you want to incorporate some fun activities and lots of giggles!
.

2. Make your table look fantastic

Any hostess would know that the way your table looks is key and that its main focal point is going to be your table scape. It isn’t just a great conversation starter but also completely enhances your dishes and plays a part in making your dinner one to remember! Table runners are a super easy way to elevate your table. Your dinnerware should also be on point: prefer going for a high quality, luxurious looking set like these. Finally, you can also add a centrepiece: this Geo Moon is the perfect one to add during Ramadan iftar parties for example!
.

3. Make your guests feel at home

The atmosphere and vibe your space gives off are also an essential factor to keep in mind when hosting a dinner party and wanting your guests to feel good. Make it clean and accessible, light some candles, have some pre-dinner snacks and drinks ready on your coffee table, hang some fairy lights around. Just make it warm and cosy – believe us, this will only make them want to come over again and ask when is your next dinner!
.

4. Avoid meals you’ve never cooked before

.
Taking risks is great, but if you tend to be a perfectionist who stresses out easily when having people over, don’t cook something you’ve never tried before! Even when following a recipe, you don’t know what can go wrong or if the taste is truly going to be as good as it looks. Alternatively, you could have a backup option you can whip out quickly if things don’t go exactly as planned or if you’re not a fan of the recipe you tried!
We hope you find these tips helpful! Although you’re the one hosting and have to take care of everyone at the table, make sure you also enjoy your night and make the most of the people you love!
