5 tips to plan the best baby shower

5 tips to plan the best baby shower

.

If you’re expecting or are simply a relative who wants to spoil your favourite mom-to-be, you most likely have thought about hosting a baby shower. These have become really popular and are an amazing way to celebrate a little angel coming to this world! However, it does require some organisation, which can be overwhelming especially if it is you first time planning one. Don’t worry though: you’ve come to the right place! Here are tips to hold a gorgeous and joyful baby shower!

.

1. Brainstorm the theme/decor ideas

This is probably the most exciting and fun part of it all: how you’re going to make that party beautiful and memorable! You know best what style the mom-to-be loves, but if she isn’t to fussy about that or if you don’t really know what to go for, we suggest choosing very soft and minimal colours with a bit of detailing for an added touch of elegance. Our Salam range is perfect for that: it makes you feel like you’re in the clouds and looks very feminine without being too cheesy or gender oriented! You could also go for our Mubarak range as you can never go wrong with white.

.

2. Make a guest list and prepare invitations

Baby showers are usually way more intimate than weddings with only very close people being invited. However, that doesn’t mean you should prepare a list and send out invitations that match the vibe you’re going for (without giving it all away if you don’t want to spoil the surprise!). You could even include a dress code or a suggestion to bring something over! Just make it exciting for your guests as well so you know they’ll be even more invested in that celebration.

.

3. Write a food menu

.

You can’t plan a party without thinking about what everyone will be eating! Baby showers usually call for things to snack on rather than a full on meal, so why not have some savoury bites on the menu, maybe a refreshing salad and of course, cupcakes, biscuits and sweets. Have a look at our baking essentials and halal sweet jars for some inspo!

.

4. List down favour boxes and gift ideas

It’s always fun going to a party and receiving a little gift as a souvenir of this special moment. You could add sweets and kind words to favour boxes or even think of some bigger items to add to surprise gift bags. These could also be used to spoil the mama-to-be with some baby related gifts, like this kids dinner set or this cute sound book

5. Plan some activities

Although you’ll most likely all be too busy gushing over the expecting mom and reminiscing the good times you’ve had together, you can definitely plan some fun activities to spice up the party! You could have some icebreaking games if not everyone knows each other, card and board games, pinatas… Or even play “We’re Having a Baby!”, which is all about spliting your guests in teams, giving each one a balloon they’ll have to blow, place under their shirt and pop as quickly as possible. The first team to pop all the balloons wins: such a hilarious game to play right?!
