The Blessings of Ramadan

The Blessings of Ramadan
.
Ramadan is only a few weeks away Alhamdulillah! We absolutely love this time of the year as it not only brings a incredibly special and calming atmosphere, but also is the perfect opportunity to reconnect with our faith.
Let’s reflect upon the blessings of Ramadan together, shall we?

Resetting our bodies

The benefits of fasting have been scientifically proven, to the point it is now also practised by people who are not Muslim Subhan’Allah! Our bodies are truly an amanah from our Creator and it is essential to be mindful when it comes to the way we eat. Ramadan gives us the time to reset, not only from food but also drinks and sexual intercourse. What is wonderful about it is that you get to appreciate these things even more afterwards, just as if you were discovering them for the first time!

Purifying our hearts

If we start the month with the right intentions, Ramadan naturally brings us back to the essence of Islam. Think about it: Muslims around the world try to complete the Quran during this blessed time, go to the masjid to pray Tarawih, and overall try to dedicate the month to grow spiritually. But it doesn’t stop there: fasting also impacts your mind positively, makes you reflect upon all the things you’ve been blessed with and makes you more aware of the things you should change in your life.

Earning rewards

Did you know that one of the gates of Jannah called Ar-Rayyan is reserved to those of us who fasted sincerely during the month of Ramadan? That is such an incredible reward, but as you can imagine, it isn’t just about not eating and drinking: it is essential to make the most of this month to learn more about Islam, to do lots of acts of charity (especially when Laylat ul Qadr comes around), to spend time with our families and set new goals to keep improving as a Muslim.
